Winter Is Here

Well, I guess July 4th has been gone for some time now. I finally sat down to figure out this BLOG thing. The summer was very busy, but fun. All 3 kiddos were on the Dolphin Swim Team. We were so proud of how well they each swam. Laci used the season as a springboard for Water Polo. In the fall she competed for the first time and was a starter for Varsity. It was so neat to see her play. The boys each watching her tread water! All they could say was WOW! We also spent a week in Tahoe with Jeff's dad and sister's. It was very beautiful, however, a bit smokey. The kids were able to go tubing. I also bought a DIGITAL CAMERA!!

In late July, Austin began 3rd grade, Preston 2nd and Laci ... a Senior! I now teach 1st and Jeff continues to teach 3rd. We are not too sure what the future holds for us next year. We just hope at least one of has a job. The budget is looking very dark and grim...In August, with many months of little Preston having leg pain, we finally got word that he had a small, benign tumor on his femur. He had physical therapy and saw several Dr.s before we knew what what was going on. Jeff and I, had many early mornings without sleep. He would wake from 2:30-3:30AM and stay awake for an hour to one and a half hours. Teaching, swimming, youth soccer, and waterpolo kept us extremely busy. September was warm, but went by very quick. I was finally getting used to teaching 1st grade.

In October, we went to Disneyland! Laci went when she was 6 and the boys of course have never been. It was a scorcher! We drank alot of water. Preston saw his teacher and a classmate. We had a BLAST! Jeff's uncle from Sacramento joined us for the trip too. Then we traveled to AZ to our house and spent some wonderful time with Mom, Dolan, Justin, Par, and baby Brooklyn. The weather was hot and fun for the kids. We swam at the Hanke's and enjoyed the relaxing vacation. It was a vacation well deserved.

November is one of my most favorite months. There are many wonderful birthdays and Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. We decided to make a quick trip to AZ. It was fantastic to have four of us LUTZ kids together. Desert Bar was a sight to see. We hiked off Route 66 for Jeff's birthday. The day after Thanksgiving, Joseph and the family came into town around 1:30 AM. It was very memorable for the cousins to spend time together. The food was so good. It has been cold since we returned. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Well, now it is December! We finished our second quarter and decided to not go anywhere. Preston had the FRA procedure done on 12/12. They used a long needle probe and shattered the tumor to a million pieces with very hot heat ( I guess) and the pain is gone. I have been cleaning, organizing and relaxing. It is nice to not have to be anywhere right now. I reapplied for my Master's in Reading. I should begin in March. My transcripts were MIA... they were found under my maiden name... who would have thought. I hope the New Year brings hope and health for everyone.
