On The Creative Side
These first few pictures are ones that I mentioned to the family awhile back. Austin was so proud of his accomplishment of building these projects on his own that we wanted to share them. He literally worked on these for 2 days and was very focused. I remember when I was a kid and we played with the Erector Set. My brothers were very good at making neat things. The Erector Set is much different today.
Well, I was bummed that I didn't have any recent pictures of Laci so I scrolled through some photos and found one from the fall. Many of you never saw Laci play. We were so proud of Laci to have enough courage and play waterpolo for the first time. She was a great player, she even scored at a game. We hope she plays again some time in her future. She will swim in the spring. Practices begin very soon.

Welcome to New Year!
Well, it sure has been a very cold and foggy December and part of January. The weather definitely has been strange. You never know what extreme you may get. Last weekend was in the 70's in San Francisco. We took the boys to the Zoo and the beach around sunset. It was a beautiful day! We saw many animals and enjoyed lunch by the penguins.
Jeff and I have began our 3rd qurter and all seems to be flowing. However, the morale is pretty down due to serious budget cuts that are being proposed. It looks like 6-8 teachers will get pink slipped by March 15th. We should hopefully know by Feb. 28th. Our school is losing enrollment because of the financial crisis, foreclosures, or because schools in the area will not let students come to our school because they lose money. It is pretty bad throughout the area, so I am not too sure what we will be doing if one or both of us get cut. It will be very sad!
Laci has been accepted to the University of Hawaii and San Francisco State so far. The UC's don't send letters until mid-to late Feb. The boys were able to go to a High School Basketball game last week with her. They were pretty excited to be with their sister and "Big Kids".
Two weeks ago, we took the boys to an Alumni CSU Stanislaus Basketball game. We had a great time and visited with our coach. The kids had fun touring the campus. Austin loved the library! He enjoyed looking at all the really thick books. It sure brought back memories, and it is hard to believe my baby will be heading off to college this coming year! Preston had fun running all over the campus. It is such a blessing that he doesn't have pain anymore.
